The Andrews Pitchfork or the Median Line method is basically a trend line system which is used in a trending market to visually calculate a target.
According to Andrews, the purpose of the median line is to determine the trend.
The most important part of this concept is that prices typically make it to the median line 80% of the time, and the developing trend should be contained within the upper and lower lines.
This, by itself, is a powerful factor which enables a trader to visually estimate where price would most likely encounter support or resistance.
We take this highly effective concept one step further, and add some filters to obtain precise levels for entry, stop and exit, and also build the correct money management principles for it.

Did you know that you, as a trader, are your own worst enemy? You might have a perfect setup, a great strategy, and a foolproof trading plan - but if you lack the discipline or patience to see it through, none of it will do you much good. In a less grotesque example, you may simply want to improve your mindset and focus, and get yourself “in the zone” to help improve trading performance - and enjoyment.

Trading for profits is all well and good, but if you are struggling against yourself, you will not enjoy the process. Chances are, if you are trading professionally, this is your JOB - and you gotta love your job. If you are not loving your job, what the heck are you doing here? Its a vicious cycle - resent your job, and poor results will follow, causing further resentment.

Thankfully there are some very talented people out there, such as our very own Paul Wallace, who can help you achieve that forex zen which no technical or fundamental strategy ever could.

You may have noticed a new addition to the site last night. Crash Courses, we call them. And they do exactly what they sound like - they break through the haze and confusion, delivering important practical lessons and strategies which can be understood and implemented by normal human beings.

Our Director of Education, Sunil Mangwani, believes, and I tend to agree, that immersion is the best way to learn. When you are down in the trenches, with an experienced instructor by your side, you can learn more in an hour than you can learn by yourself in months or even years.

The material covered is not just some textbook re-telling of the facts - we teach you actual strategies which work in the field, and we teach you by taking you down to the live market and actually implementing them. I can’t think of a better way to learn than by doing (and having someone around to show you how).

These Crash Courses are 8 hours long, taking place over 2 days, with 4 hour sessions each day. We do them twice each day - during New York hours, and during GMT hours - to accommodate students in multiple time zones (though Daylight Savings Time has been quite a pain this year!).

I believe an appropriate way to start a blog would be to tell a little about what it is about, why we decided to run it, and what we see beyond the horizon.

FX Instructor is by no means a big company, but we have big dreams for a company our size. All of us have had quite a few years of experience in Forex, seeing markets go up and down, watching as firms slide into mediocrity as new, more competitive offerings appear, and marveling at the fantastic amount of enthusiasm with which new traders have been rushing onto the market, to try their hand at getting rich.

The fact that most of those traders rush right out of the market very soon, having lost all their money, is a fact which has not gone entirely over our heads. This is the reality of Forex - heck, its the reality of any market where future movement is ultimately unpredictable. The lack of any training compounds this problem, as does a lack of knowledge, experience, unlimited trading funds, omniscience, time travel, or a guiding voice to tell you “don’t forget to stop up!”.

So thats when the Idea Lightbulb™ came on, and we had this idea - “Hey! If beginning traders visiting our educational website could join other traders, and our mentors, in discussing forex, eventually even the least experienced traders will learn to think like professionals!”.
